Testimonials.

Alfie:

“ Alf and I first met Clara at a Veterinary Practice in Bath. Her approach is unique as she initiates a “bond” with the animal first and through this process, gains their trust.

Clara has a natural ability to put the animal at ease and I soon came to value and respect her gift.

Now fifteen, Alfie needs specialist care. Clara has aided both mobility and general health, recommending natural supplements and a specialist diet.

Clara’s expert knowledge has given Alfie a more comfortable and enjoyable life in his old age. Her generosity is humbling and I’m grateful for her valuable advice and support.  “

Aussie:

I’d known Clara as a “traditional” vet for several years before contacting her to discuss herbal treatments – she’d always given amazing care to my pets.
I’ve always been a bit of a cynic when it comes to alternative medicine, but after seeing the incredible difference Clara’s treatments made for my ageing, arthritic labrador, Aussie, I’m close to being a convert (I even take the human version of one of the herbal supplements she used for Aussie myself now!).

Clara is amazing – her depth of knowledge, combined with her caring and supportive approach – coupled with experience of her care in a traditional vet practice made it a no brainer to try the herbal approach she recommended, not least as Aussie wasn’t coping well with Metacam and similar pet pain medicines.
The treatments she recommended were bespoke – tailored to my dog’s specific needs and consideration given to how they might interact with his diet and existing medication.

The difference was quite incredible – I had thought we were in the last few months with Aussie at his first herbal consultation in 2021. He had 3 more, largely comfortable, years with significantly reduced reliance on traditional (gut and organ damaging) pain management for most of that time.

I was surprised by how reasonably priced the services and herbal tonics were.

I genuinely believe her expertise played a critical role in extending my dog’s happy, healthy life. I can’t recommend Clara, or the herbal approach, highly enough.

Roscoe:

Following Roscoe’s first Grand Mal seizure with a subsequent diagnosis of idiopathic epilepsy I was in shock and desperate to find a way to manage this unpredictable and potentially life limiting condition.  The stress of suddenly having an epileptic dog caused me sleepless nights, feelings of powerlessness and increased anxiety.  I felt strongly that I wanted to pursue a holistic and ‘natural’ treatment approach  rather than start heavy medications with their potential for  horrible side effects and liver damage. I tried to garner good information from wherever I could but often things were confusing and advice contradictory so when I discovered Clara Greenwood practicing veterinary herbalism in Bristol I knew I had to take my boy to see her.

I was so glad that I did – she conducted a thorough holistic veterinary assessment which took into account his major systems as well as his temperament and habits(!) before suggesting a management plan involving dietary changes, supplements and herbal tonic along with practical strategies for seizure control all grounded in research-based evidence.

Clara listened and heard BOTH of us and has been immensely supportive and encouraging on our journey.  The results took time to unfold (the same would have been likely if I had opted for the standard medicines as it can be trial and error identifying effective doses for these too) but have been so positive.  Roscoe has gone from having seizures every 3-4 weeks to recently a stretch of 4 months seizure free, in addition his seizures have not escalated in severity and his recovery time is quite quick. While it’s not a curable condition, to date Clara has afforded Roscoe and me a near normal doggy life where he and I get to enjoy each other to the fullest.  Here’s some photos to show some of our adventures which included a road trip to Spain earlier this year.
